Born from a desire to make a difference, the Trees in Honor Advisory Board is made up of a diverse group of professionals, all of
whom bring to the table a necessary skill set, their
patriotism and their love for our heros.

Carol J. Carroll / Executive Director

Among many business interests Carol is Founder and CEO of Grafton Inc. aka
Grafton Companies. She and her husband Richard have worked for the last 30 years to bring their business to be recognized as an Inc 500 company (3 years in a row). Through her involvement on several for-profit and non-profit Boards, Carol has become an expert on Board Governance. She calls Arizona home and has 4 children and 12 grandchildren.
Brian Schader / Founder

An Arizona native, Brian began his artistic career at the age of 19 in 1982.
Largely self taught, Brian has worked diligently to articulate his feelings and ideas through the mediums of sculpting, painting, printmaking, photography and poetry. Brian volunteered with the American Red Cross for many years and currently sits on the Board of the Fountain Hills Community Theater. He lives in Fountain Hills with his wife and
three children. Among other hobbies he plays golf and is an avid auto enthusiast.
Madiha Ali / Assistant Director

Madiha has volunteered for various non-profits for last 12 years. She is a stay at home mother of three with a passion to motivate and is currently writing her first book. Madiha sits on the board of illumin8life a non-profit organization dedicated to helping
women with cancer. Madiha’s desire to effect change led her to be a speaker at TEDx Fountain Hills in 2016. Among her hobbies is a love of travel and a passion for cooking.
Barry Schader / Director of Finance

Barry received his masters from Arizona State University. He served 4 years in the US Navy, followed by the last 29 years as a senior software engineer for the Medtronic Corporation. Barry has been married to his wife Janice for 33 years and they have two daughters. An avid outdoorsman, Barry is a long time supporter of the Sierra Club. Concerned for our environment, he's kept a minimal carbon footprint by driving hybrid automobiles for the last 10 years.

Sabeel Khurram / Digital Marketing

A native of Chandler AZ, Sabeel is currently attending Arizona State University on a full scholarship
studying Marketing. He's proud to be a member of The Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corp currently performing throughtout the United States.

Robert Couture / Cities Liaison

A native of Bay City Michigan, Bob studied Theater at Western Washington
University. After working in publishing for many years Bob decided a change was in order and became a school teacher. Since retired, he lives with his wife Cindy in Fountain Hills Arizona. They have two grown children and are currently raising their second family of 3
dogs and a cat.
Lt. Col. Ron Marusiak USAF Ret. /
Military Advisor & Steward Liaison

Ron graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1971, received his pilots wings and spent ten years on active duty as an instructor pilot and fighter pilot. He retired in 1996 from the Arizona National Guard as a LtCol. He worked at his family's tool and die business until retiring in 2013 as Division President. He spends his time working with lasers and waterjets dealing with artists and new ideas.
Alysia Rachel Dahir / Grant Writer

Alysia has a Masters in Business and International Business-Finance from Western International Univ. and a BS. from ASU’s WP Carey School of Business. She is CFO of DQD Inc. a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering young women who need a fresh start. With her desire to inspire, Alysia has become the Organizer of TEDx Fountain Hills. Alysia enjoys teaching, traveling and spending time
with her two children.
Glee Grenslitt-Sexon / Admin Assist

A native of San Bernardino Ca, Glee received her BS. from California State
University at Long Beach as well as an accounting degree from San Bernadino Valley College. Glee worked as a technical support manager at GTCO Calcomp-Interlight Learning for 16 years before retiring to work with her husband Herold. They have been happily married for 48 years and reside in Fountain Hills Arizona.
The Trees in Honor Project is dedicated to promoting hope for a better world, through Gratitude. There are many things to be grateful for in United States of America
and our service personnel should be high on everyone's list. If not for these
brave men and women, life would likely be very different for most of us.

The Trees in Honor Project is 501c3 compliant through Fiscal Sponsorship with one
of the nations largest non-profit arts services organizations, Fractured Atlas.

Veterans Day at Harley Davidson of Scottsdale. This was the first display in Arizona of the Tree in Honor model that will soon be embarking on it's national tour to garner support.

A special thank you goes out to HD of Scottsdale for being our first host and displaying the tree in their lobby next to their amazing military themed bikes from Nov 11th - Jan 9th. Thxs Doug & Taylor!
